Making All City This Was a Great Moment In My Life.

Toward the end of my junior year at Weequahic High School in Newark New Jersey, I started hearing from my friends that I was going to make All City. How did they know I asked myself? In my usual mood of high esteem I was thinking that there was no way I would make the all city team. “Vailburg’s catcher was better than me” is what crossed my mind. I make the grade - No way. I told you I had high self esteem.

The two best teams in the city at the time, Barringer and Vailsburg would receive the most recognition for their players. We were 3-15. And our record did not display how really bad we were. I think I was the only player that batted over .300.

In the last game of the season we were playing Central High. A poor to average team at best. But they had Richie Glenn. An above average pitcher with speed to burn. I went up to bat thinking home run. I was so determined to hit a home run I remember standing closer to the plate thinking I could reach an outside pitch. Most if not all of my hits that year were singles. While I had power I had not displayed much of it. I dug in deeper ready to smack one when Richie let loose with one that was very high and very tight. So tight it stuck in my ear. I guess it did not curve like I thought. Down I went. Out like a light.. While the ball did not stick in my ear it made quite an impression in my head. I think some thread from the ball is embedded in my ear lobe to this day.

I was slowly escorted to Coach Ginsburg’s office. When I finally awoke which seemed like hours, but was really minutes, Mr Ginsburg told me I had made the Star Ledger All City Baseball team. I was elated and soar. I was happy and groggy. I was proud and queasy at the same time.

Wow what a day. I wonder if Babe Ruth or Lou Gehrig ever went through something like this.

Golf fitness equipment can be a variety of pieces; but what truly is golf fitness equipment?

You’d be surprised to find out it is not expensive; and is not necessarily in a gym or health club either.

Yes…there are golf “machines” for stretching and strength building that are well over one thousand dollars, but are definitely not needed.

When you think of the golf swing, it’s a dynamic movement completed in space with your ‘whole’ body. So any kind of training or golf fitness equipment should be able to accommodate this.

I’ve designed all my programs, dvds and books to utilize the below equipment for one reason. Convenience. Which will save you time to do what you really want to do. Play golf!

For starters, a pair of hand weights (dumbbells) are inexpensive, portable and can be used for dozens of golf-specific exercises. They don’t have to be heavy or cumbersome. You’d be surprised what a 5 to 8 pound pair of dumbbells can accomplish with the right golf exercises.

Next on the list of golf fitness equipment is tubing. You may have seen it in articles, on the television or in a catalog. Exercise tubing is extremely portable, very inexpensive and also can be used to mimic many phases of the golf swing, but with resistance.

I personally use exercise tubing in all of my programs, with all of my personal clients and in my own golf workouts. It can give you one heck of a workout if you have the right resistance. These bands come in varying tensions from light to extra heavy.

Another piece of golf fitness equipment is a stability ball. It’s the big ‘beach ball’ looking thing that is used in offices to sit on, in many exercise classes, at most health clubs and all of the physical therapy clinics.

Why? Because again it’s portable, inexpensive and very versatile. Doing golf exercises on the ball incorporate core stabilization, balance and stability. All important factors in a mechanically sound golf swing.

And the last piece of golf fitness equipment is a weighted medicine ball is the . You might remember them from several decades ago as the big leather balls that the old fitness fanatics used to improve strength and power.

Well now they’re back! They are used in every sport-specific strength program in existence. You can do so many sport-like movements with them and they weigh as much as 20 pounds, so you can imagine the benefit from a power standpoint.

I have a couple of my ‘bread-and-butter’ exercises I use in all my programs that incorporate the weighted medicine ball and they are very effective.

So there you have it! Three or four pieces of inexpensive and portable golf fitness equipment.

Xmas is a grand time to spend with family and friends and without exception every one of us wants it to end up being as grand as we can make it - a crucial portion of the festive tradition is having a merrily appointed house to tip your hat to the Xmas season. A lot of the time some people end up having rubbish adornments and Xmas lights draped around a shabby tree. Go and have a look through the John Lewis website and put the shine back into Xmas. The Christmas tree lights you choose can dramatically change the look and feel of your home during the festive season, so choose wisely.

At 2 time the dominant of almost every living-rooms is the tree - lovingly decorated with X-mas lights, baubles and sweets, looming above the festively coloured presents underneath; it is the first feature most people see when they come in-to the residence and that is the main reason you will assuredly want it to end up turning out to be great. Browsing the magical range available on the John Lewis web-site could not conceivably be made any more simplistic - simplistic navigation at the left hand side and at the top of each and every page makes the job of clicking through to the tree you want to obtain no trouble.

Obviously, when you have picked out your ideal Xmas tree - coupled with the specific lights to go with it - you will almost defiantly desire to select a scattering of ornaments for the remainder of your dwelling. These may well come in the form of Christmas lights, hanging ornaments or tinsel to name but a few. Fighting through the holiday shoppers to pick these X-mas decorations up may well end up turning out to be a significant chore and the additional cost of delivering the goods from some websites can alter that ‘great price’ you see into a deal more like something you may discover on the local high street.

Fear not - with John Lewis you will not simply bypass the busyness of the 2 crowds by looking for gifts from the relative privacy of your own flat, but you will also get absolutely free normal delivery for all your items - with next day delivery on offer if you should be in a massive rush. Not just that but absolutely free returns are also available to you, so you can really shop on line in confidence. So why not let John Lewis help make this Christmas a really special one.

Gone are the days when people used to rely on word of mouth from people they knew to find good golf courses in the area where they happen to be. The great weakness in this way of finding golf courses was that it relied rather heavily on one’s contacts and their knowledge of golf courses in the vicinity.

Now sites like TeeTimeWatch.com help golfers find and book discounted and last minute tee times online. This not only provides golf courses for golfers, but does so at the best possible value or cost available. In other words, golfers are now able to play much more golf for much less.

The best way to approach this task of finding the perfect golf course for you to play on, is to first make your decision on one or two key issues. Firstly you will need to decide what the maximum distance you are prepared to travel to reach the golf course is. You will also need to clearly identify the strong preferences that you may have. It is important to do this because you will quickly be overwhelmed by the interesting information about the different courses that you will tend to lose focus of what exactly it is that you want.

Once you have made up your mind on exactly what you are looking for, you can then go to the TeeTimeWatch.com and search for available golf courses in the state or area that you are close to.

You can then make a shortlist of a few of the ones available and then use a search engine like Google to do even more research on the courses that you are interested in.

Once you have made your final decision, then it is a simple case of booking the particular course for use at the particular tee time that is available and you are done. It is actually as simple as that.

Directory enquiries has historically of late been, lumped in with the most helpful and useful things ever thought up. Simply picking up the phone to inquire about a persons address or the telephone number when you didn’t possess the necessary phone directory on you has certainly been a great boon for people in times of critical informational necessity.

Even so, as time moved on and directory enquiries became even more commonplace, we came to the realisation that we invested extra time waiting put on hold and listening to advertisements as opposed to the alternative of obtaining the information that we required “as fast and easily as possible”. It should go without saying, this was what directory enquiries were required to perform. Consequentially, a significant number of people started scanning for superior ways and means. In spite of this, there was still no alternative that was comparable until the advent of online directory enquiries. On line directory enquiries are not solely better than old phone in directories, they are a great deal more effective. Settle for nothing less - a quick online directory enquiries service is available at the 118 118 website.

The most popular online directory enquiries offer their services for free. There are no subscription charges and certainly no mandatory listening to adverts. And so they are clearly “free” and “straightforward”. Online directory enquiries are there to function for you twenty four/seven. You are able to quite simply click to open an on line directory enquiry and check your long lost uni girlfriends cellphone number at midnight.

On-line directory enquiries let you check information relating to many vital bits of information. UK directory enquiry services can supply bus timetables & help you in your task of finding transport from destination to source. You will often also like to know about the new films currently being screened at the moment in your closest cinema hall, absolutely no matter where exactly you are currently in the UK. Quite obviously, finding companies and their telephone numbers is a slice of pie and the best function is that you of course get to learn individuals phone numbers. All this great data is currently acquirable at your PC with on-line business directories. There are clearly absolutly no engaged phone lines, absolutly no annoyed operators, non-functional computers or dull advertisements to listen to. So log on and enjoy!

The November issue of The Manufacturer reviewed Bolt-on Solutions. It noted, some boutique ERP providers cautiously embrace the bolt-on model. “Our software supports engineering intensive companies,” says Chuck Stewart, founder and executive vice president of Cincinnati, OH-based Encompix, an ERP provider for companies in the engineer to order, make to order, and project management industries. “Sometimes there is functionality that is needed where it makes sense to use a bolt-on application. We don’t want to reinvent.” Stewart uses the example of project management software as a realistic bolt-on application. “Microsoft Project is an industry standard and most, if not all, of our customers use it. It behooves us to make sure that it integrates easily into our ERP system.” It is an application that Stewart has no desire to reinvent.

Stewart advocates an open relationship with third party software providers so he can keep his service levels high and provide support to his installed base. “I’m happy to see an improving relationship with software providers that allow us to identify integrations issues and advise the customer,” says Stewart. “Customers grow weary of tight integration processes and the trouble they cause, both in cost and time, is unacceptable.” He also sees an evolving open standard developing across the industry that is helping ERP companies and third party providers alike. “The architecture is changing and integration is becoming easier,” says Stewart. “We are much more in the loop when it comes to upgrades and changes in software, including being invited to conferences and having access to design teams when necessary.”

Encompix has filled the manufacturing software requirements of Engineer-to-Order companies since 1992. The company name reflects the commitment to developing business application solutions that encompass the complex areas of project-based and job-based manufacturing.

If you’re planning on a trip to a colder climate to do some camping you’re going to want to buy a tent for your cold camping nights that will keep you warm and dry. When you camp in colder climates you’ll need to have tents that can withstand the harsher climate of the north. When you’re choosing what type of a tent to buy there are certain criteria that you’ll need to base your decision on. Some of the things that you’ll need to consider are how many people will be using the tent, will you be using the tent just for sleeping or for sleeping and cooking, what time of the year that you’re going to be traveling, and how long you’ll be staying on your camping trip. Once you have the answers to these questions you can narrow down your search for the right tent for you.

There are two different types of tents that you can choose from: tents that supported by poles and tents that are considered to be free standing. Tents that are supported by poles will also need to have ropes on the outside of the tent that harness the tent to the pegs set into the ground to help support the poles. If you’re traveling to the Arctic to do some camping you might want to choose a pole tent such as the Labrador tents, which are durable and reliable in the northern climate. Tents that are considered to be free standing have a frame that is sturdier than pole tents. Even though these tents are completely free standing you might find that winds in a northern climate cause it to shake and bend.

One thing that you should keep in mind when you’re camping in colder climates is that there may often not be ground available to drive the stakes of the tent into, since there will be a lot of rock, or frozen ground. If you have to pitch your tent on rock try to find a surface that is relatively level and near some smaller rocks. This way you can tie tent lines to the rocks and still have a sturdy tent.

There will always be challenges whether one decides to fish either in the river or in the open sea. The important thing to remember is to have patience waiting for the fish and doing your best to catch it when it appears.

To be able to fish, a person needs to get a fishing license since this is a requirement by law and the regulations regarding fishing varies from one state to the other.

The first thing one needs for salt water fishing is a boat. It can range from a simple row boat to a yacht. The size of this vessel depends on how many people will join the trip.

For people who will do it in-shore, a 15 foot sailboat that comes with a cuddy forward to serve as a shelter when it rains should do the job. The boat should not be heavy and yet adequately sturdy to not be swayed by the action of strong waves or some bumps on the beach or on the rocks.

One should always try the edges of the perimeter first instead of plopping bait or lure in the middle. This is because it will scare the other fish away. By going through the sides first, one will have a better chance of catching unsuspecting fish in the middle.

If one decides to go “down below” some time, a cod-line is a necessity for everybody to enjoy saltwater fishing. A perch-line will also be good and if it’s time for mackerel fishing, a mackerel jig will be an excellent help.

The right time to start salt water fishing is on the ebb tide. This should be during an early time of the morning to ensure that the trip will be a productive one. This will put the tide in one’s favor and if the wind is light or not fair, this will also help in going home quickly.

The best place to start fishing is going to a fishing ground that is well known to the locals.

Many anglers who are too impatient move from one spot to another which at times make these people miss a hotspot further decreasing the chances of catching fish. It is advisable to cast out a couple of times before moving on using different types of bait. This should be done from the shallowest to the deepest point.

Sharks in the area can disrupt people from catching fish. By pouring some fish blood on a paper towel or newspaper and rolling it into a ball then casting it overboard, sharks will follow the current and leave the area increasing the chances of catching fish.
