If you work at home using the internet or are frequently on the internet checking out websites, then you will want to look into service from a high speed internet provider. There are several ways to connect to the internet in order that you receive this quicker service. You can look into DSL which is at least 5 times faster than dial up and runs through the phone line. Cable and satellite internet access are the other choices. After you choose which connection you are interested in, then you need to find the high speed internet provider that offers that particular service.

DSL is a great option for people who live close to the central office where the DSL comes from. DSL is distance sensitive, which means that you need to be within three miles of the office of your high speed internet provider to receive the best connection. The best way to find out about DSL is to ask neighbors if they use it and if the do, ask if they are satisfied with it. DSL is always on, so you do not have to wait for it to connect to the internet. With better speed than the dial up method, this may be the right choice for you.

Cable internet runs through your cable line and has amazing speed. Downloading is quick and easy and it is always on for your convenience. The only drawback to cable internet may be the high cost that these high speed internet providers charge. There may be package deals with your cable TV service or a reduced priced if you accept a slower access speed, so ask if there are any discounts that are available. Cable internet is a wonderful option for those users who are on the internet several times a day.

Satellite internet may be the only option for consumers in rural and out of the way areas. Satellite internet uses satellites in outer space for internet connection. This is a faster option than dial up, but may be dependent upon the weather, although most consumers only have problems during major storms. Ask neighbors about their internet service and if they use satellite internet service. This is the best way to find out which high speed internet provider will work for you.

High speed internet providers fill a vital need for internet users. The important thing to do is to research the provider group of your choice until you find a high speed internet provider that offers what you need for you and your family. Once you do this, then you sure to find the high speed internet service that is right for you!

From gas suppliers, to mobile phone companies, the EU is not afraid of anyone – not even the mighty Miscrosoft, one of the largest companies in the world. Research has revealed that the broadband industry in Europe, however, has nothing to fear.

Europeans are signing up for Broadband Deals faster than ever before. High-speed Internet services are growing in popularity because intense competition from broadband providers is continually driving the product’s exposure in the marketplace to new highs, and prices to new lows.

As a result, it is estimated that up to 8 million UK households will have broadband by 2008. Overall, the rate at which people are signing up to broadband providers is constantly increasing, thanks largely to the high level of competition in the telecoms industry. It seems the EU is right – competition is good for consumers.

This feverish competition is forcing telcos to mount aggressive marketing campaigns in order to make consumers aware of their broadband services. At the same time, broadband access has improved on a geographical basis as well as a technical basis, making it available to a larger pool of potential customers. Some telcos are also advertising very high broadband speeds to attract power users. The competition has also led to telcos lowering prices in a bid to undercut rivals.

Because of the real competition between telcos offering broadband, the EU has not interfered on a trade practices level. It has, however, issued a ruling that mobile phone and broadband access is not to become a right for all European citizens. Currently there is a universal service obligation that covers fixed landline telecoms that exists to ensure that every European has access to landline service if they want it. According to the EU, this obligation will not be extended to cover broadband and mobile phone services.

This is of little concern to broadband providers. In some European countries the consumer broadband market is growing by 10% a year. While this is expected to peak in a few years time, there is still a lot of money to be made for the telcos in the immediate future. With the number of online services increasing each year, and film and television programmes soon to be legally streamed into every household with a fast enough broadband deal, the market still has plenty of life left in it.

Let’s hope the competition continues, and our monthly broadband bills do not mimic our ever-increasing gas bills.

Do you have a website and are looking for more traffic? If so you don’t have to despair trying to figure out how you will direct traffic to your site because there is a tried and true way to increase your traffic in no time! The best method to get more traffic is with one way links. You may have heard of reciprocal links in the past, but that requires you to host a link on your site as well. With one way links there is a link to your site, but you don’t have to host a link as well! You might be wondering how you can possibly get other sites to host a link to your site without you having to host a link back, but fortunately it is not only possible but really easy with web directories!

One Way Links and Web Directories

Website directories are simply directories that focus on compiling links to other websites and then categorizing them. There are thousands of web directories on the Web that will allow you as a website owner to submit your website information and link to have included in the web directory. Then, a human will review the submission to approve it for the web directory. Then, your site will have a new one way link in the web directory that will help you reach more people and ultimately get more traffic. Since there are so many web directories you can spend a lot of time submitting your information in order to receive those important one way links. Or else you could hire someone to do it for you. Amazingly, there are many online companies that focus on submitting your link to website directories and since they already know the web directories and how to go about the process they can do it fast and cheap!

Since there are so many directories out there and you want as many links as possible then this might be the best bet for you. Trying to link your site with all of the web directories on the web will take a lot of your time and you won’t be able to focus on other projects or business. Of course, if you have a lot of free time then you can visit all of the web directories you want to submit your website to get a one way link. That is completely up to you, just know there are companies that offer this service for a very reasonable rate.

Some of the most famous web directories are Yahoo! Directory, Open Directory Project, as well as LookSmart, so you will want to start with these. Of course, there are plenty of other web directories to choose from and you might need to do a little online research to figure out which ones are best. Just remember, if you want more traffic for your website start placing some one way links to your site in web directories and watch the visitors come.

This is an often-asked question that can have many answers. I’ll try to touch on a few more common things to check when your broadband slows down. (Keep in mind it could be your ‘computer’ that is slowing down and ‘not’ your broadband connection)

The first thing would be to run an online speed test. This helps to get a general idea of the current speed of your internet connection. It’s only an approximate, but certainly ok for a starting point. To find a broadband speed test utility, you can perform a google search with a search string of ‘broadband speed test’. This should pull back a number of options for you.

Another way is to visit our web site and check the utilities section. We’ve gathered up a few different links to a few different speed tests. This way you can run a few different tests and compare your results. When you execute these tests, your browser should be the only thing running on your computer. Close down any games, email clients, etc. you may have running.

Ok, the next thing to keep in mind is the type of broadband access you’re using. If your using DSL, then the further away you are from the telephone company central office, the weaker your signal will be. If you’re using cable internet access you’re sharing your connection with others in your neighborhood using the same cable internet access. These are a couple of things that, unfortunately for residential users you have no control over. But let’s get to some things you do have control over.

First up spyware. These are the nasty little (‘almost’ invisible) programs that find their way onto your computer. Some malicious, some not, but in either case they take resources away from your computer. Resources are things like your CPU (processor), memory, hard disk space, etc. You can be proactive here. We recommend using Spybot. This is a free utility you can install and execute on your computer. Its job is to hunt down and destroy these resource hogs. Again, do you google search using ‘Spybot’ as your search term.

Viruses are another problem. You should ‘always’ keep your virus protection software running and up to date. These are usually configurable for auto-update capabilities. It is imperative you keep this running so it can protect you from malicious computer virus attacks. A slow computer is one thing; a computer that crashes is completely different.

If you tend to install and uninstall many programs, there is the chance that your computers hard drive is fragmented. Simply, the hard drive needs to search more when trying to piece together a file, etc. Hard drives do not store information sequentially. A file can be stored at many different locations throughout your hard drive and your computer works harder to find and put together the file you’re accessing. For windows users, you can click the start button (lower left corner) then select Accessories, then select System Tools. In this program grouping, you will find a utility called Disk Defragmenter.

Running this utility will tell you whether or not you even need to de-fragment your hard drive or not and if you do, there is a button to click to begin the process.

Before you get to worried or geek out to much, check your current broadband speed, clean up any spyware, protect yourself from viruses, clean any viruses found and check your disk space and fragmentation level to determine whether or not you need to de-fragment your hard drive.

These are just a few things that you can check. We’ve left out things like memory capacity, firewalls, proxies and modems.

Our intent was not to discuss each possibility, as there are many. Our intent was to point out a few basic things you could do yourself today.

If you see that your broadband connection itself is the culprit due to bad speed tests, contact your internet service provider (ISP).

If your broadband connection speed is fine, chances are the problem is with your computer. Follow the steps outlined above and test again.

If the problem persists you may need to upgrade your computer. However, before I would upgrade anything, I would first attempt to get more information from the internet, friends, family or someone knowledgeable to diagnosis the issue further. Running out and buying new equipment is fine if you can afford that. I think it’s better to identify the problem first. After all, it may be something easily fixed. Better yet, once you understand what it was and how it happened, it may be something you can guard against the next time.

1. Build Targeted Email Lists You must build your own targeted lists of subscribers. This is easily done using autoresponders that let you sequentially send a series of messages to your subscribers. Entice these subscribers to join your list by giving them a valuable product/service in return. Last and certainly not least, set this process up to run without you ever having to touch it again – automate it.

2. Track your advertising campaigns. You MUST do this to keep track of your expenses and profits. Tracking can tell you where your visitors are coming from and what they are buying. It can also tell you which of your affiliates are performing really well, and which ones need your help. Tracking your ads can also point out how well your JV-deals are performing. It can let you know where and where NOT to place your ads.

3. Setup a Newsletter. Setup a newsletter or niche ezine to capture emails. You can even set this up on your own domain. Set up what’s called an” auto-niche ezine”. This could be a X-day training course, or an ezine that you publish quite frequently. The trick to this is to create about 8 or 9 messages before you begin accepting subscribers. This way if you use your autoresponder to send weekly messages, you’ll always be several messages ahead of the game. I suggest sending weekly, with mailings no less than 3 days apart – unless you’re offering a training course where the information can be assimilated and applied quickly. Even here, you should give your readers a chance to digest the information.

4. Setup an affiliate program. There are several people out there who would rather market other peoples’ HOT products, rather than create their own. This is great for you, if you’re running your own quality affiliate program. Select a program that allows you to not only offer your affiliates an affiliate link to promote, but one where you can train your affiliates to sell your product. Guess what? You can use autoresponders for that too. Simply create a series of messages that teach your affiliates how to promote. You should also allow your affiliates to use your text and images (banners, etc.) to promote for you. Also, it would be really bottom-line affecting if you and your affiliates could track your ad campaigns. That is the icing on the cake and some pretty good icing too. You and your affiliates get to zero in on the most effective and least effective advertising methods and adjust your campaigns accordingly.

5. Use proper product management Some people don’t understand this one. You should use shopping carts for physical products, not digital ones. Your credit card processing and product delivery should be secure and efficient. If you’re selling digital products (ebooks, software, etc.), make sure your customer downloads are secure so people cannot steal from you. Yep – people steal on the Internet. The ideal download link is one that is encrypted and that expires after a certain time period – say 24 hours. This gives your customer plenty of time to download their new product. For physical products, your shopping cart should be responsive and searchable. The layout should be simple and intuitive. If you offer your customer options such as colors and/or sizes, make sure this is easy for them to follow and integrates seamlessly with your cart.

6. Follow-up promptly and professionally Customer Relationship Management (CRM) can make you or it could break you. You must always practice prompt and courteous communication with your prospects and customers. A good practice is to use an autoresponder and/or help-desk system to follow-up with your customers and to offer them support. An auto-responder with a simple message stating, “Thank You for your inquiry. Someone will contact you shortly….” could work wonders for your image. It could also be that extra something that makes a customer remain loyal and/or refer you to their friends and family.

A Support/Ticketing system with pre-formatted answers to commonly asked questions can cut your response time dramatically. This is especially powerful if mail-merge functionality is included as well. Mail-merge is a way of automatically including things like the customer’s name and email address, etc in your message. In your auto-responder it would look like this: “Hello $firstname, thank you for buying our widgets! We love you!”

7. Use a single all-in-one ecommerce solution to mange your business An Internet business is probably the easiest and most profitable business in the world to setup. However, careful planning and execution can ensure your e-business does not become a burden on you and your loved ones. E-Business Automation is the answer to this problem. it allows you to put your e-business on FULL auto-pilot and streamline your efforts. You can automate your entire e-business from the customer’s first click to the sale, to the follow-up after the sale, and beyond. You can even train affiliates, plus manage multiple auto-ezines. The power that e-business automation gives you to focus your attention on other things is unbelievable. Try it out, you’ll never go back to manually managing everything in your e-business again!

I whole-heartedly recommend e-business (website) automation for the amount of time & money it will save you in your e-business!

An integrated all-in-one ecommerce solution that offers all of the most popular, and most desired ecommerce features and tools is the only way to go. You want to work smarter, not harder!

Pay per click or PPC advertising is possibly the easiest and most effective way to market your business online. Getting your website listed in the search engines is vital due to the fact that the majority of website traffic (statistics say over 80%) comes from the search engines. Effective PPC management begins with devising a strategy to drive qualified traffic to your website.

PPC (PPC) advertising is simply advertising your website through the use of the search engines’ “sponsored listings”. When using PPC you bid on keywords or keyword phrases that your targeted prospects may use to find whatever your website offers. Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly known as Overture) for instance, only considers the bid amount in ranking a site. The most popular PPC Google Adwords uses bid value and your success (click through) rate.

To develop a your PPC strategy and plan, you must conduct market research. This should consist of identifying your target market (preferably a niche market), identifying keywords that your target market uses to search for what you are offering, and analyzing the keywords and alternative keywords that will appeal to your target market.

During your keyword analysis, you will want to find out how popular keywords are and what the average bids are for certain keywords you are considering for budgeting purposes since defining a budget is a necessary part of PPC management.

Budgeting for PPC advertising involves not only determining how much money you can spend on your campaign, but basing that on the monetary value of a click to your website since you are paying per click.

Your conversion rate, the number of unique visitors divided by the number of sales, plays an important role in determining the value of a click to your site for PPC advertising budgeting purposes as does the average net profit per sale. By dividing your net profit per sale by your conversion rate, you can accurately determine the value per click to your website. The price per click that you pay for your PPC advertising should not, of course (!!!) exceed this value.

So if your selling a product that gives you a £10 profit, and a particular keyword takes 50 visitors to create a sale you would bid no more than £0.20 per click to break even.

A few tips about PPC if you DIY.

1. Don’t put more money than you have to into your account – sounds obvious but….!

2. Test, test, test have at least two separate ads for the same product at the same time. Drop the lower performing adverts and add a new one until you are satisfied with the results.

3. Make sure to keep up with your results daily at the very least and adjust your strategy according to results.

4. Continue to look for new keywords and as you find new ones lose the poorer performers.

If you approach PPC advertising logically, follow the direct marketing mantra of test, test, test, monitor results regularly and make adjustments only according to results PPC advertising is a powerful tool for driving profitable traffic to your site.

Are you wireless? Should you be? Does it matter?

With wireless capabilities being built into every new
laptop under the sun, the internet is quickly becoming an
always-on, always accessible way of doing business.

So what does that mean for you then?

Well, I don’t need to tell you the value of being able
to communicate with your clients from anywhere, at anytime.
(Of course, we all have the power to choose just how
accessible and available we are to our clients, but I
digress…)

The real power of a quick email reply to an urgent client
request from your wireless device of choice is this:
it makes your client feel VALUED and IMPORTANT. It is
a feeling we all live for. Delivering that feeling to your
clients will do more for increasing your profits than many
other activities.

That’s the power of wireless.

Want to go wireless? Here are some basics. Much of this
is not stuff you need to remember, but just information to
help fill out your understanding:

*Wireless networks have flavors. There aren’t many, but
most wireless networks are one of three types, which are
labeled by the letters a, b, and g. The differences are
quite technical. In short, A and B are pretty old
and G is the newest and the fastest. End of story.

*Wireless networks have names. These network names have been
given the techie acronym SSID, which stands for Service Set
IDentifier. When you sit down at your laptop and pull up
the list of wireless networks in the area, the names in that
list are, you guessed it, the SSIDs. Please don’t bother
to remember this acronym, you most likely won’t need it
again.

*Wireless networks can have extra security. This extra
security comes in the form of encryption. Just like the
technology used to protect your data when logging on to your
bank accounts online, wireless networks can be (and should be)
ENCRYPTED to protect your business data.

*New laptops are wireless ready. Most every new laptop comes
with wireless access built in. No additional hardware or
software is required. For older laptops, however, you will
need a small wireless card that can be purchased for
anywhere between $15.00 and $100.00 at your local computer
store.

While wireless internet access provides many, many benefits
to you and your business, there is a dark side…

As internet access becomes more and more interwoven into the
business landscape, internet SECURITY, will become more and
more of a priority.

Wireless security is not only something for the tech
world to worry about. When dealing with private client
data (which we ALL do), it is in your best interest to
understand what you are dealing with. Don’t worry, it’s
just a matter of understanding a few simple ideas and
then applying them to protect yourself.

By default, most wireless networks send everyone’s data
flying through the air unprotected. If you have the proper
tools (which are easily downloadable from the internet),
you can pluck that data straight out of the air.

The wireless access at your local coffee shop or library
is most often this type: completely unsecured and open to
prying eyes. Yes, even Starbucks lets your data fly
through the air, available for all.

So enough scare tactics…

The only word you have to remember when it comes to
protecting yourself and your data is ENCRYPTION.

A good rule of thumb: If a wireless network is not
encrypted, DON’T connect to it.

Some might say this is a bit paranoid. To that I might say,
“Should my clients expect anything less?”

It is one thing if you are a college kid sitting at a
coffee shop sending messages back and forth between your
friends. It is quite another when you are preparing a legal
brief or some other piece of confidential information that
will be sent to your client.

So how do you tell if a wireless network is encrypted?

Simple…

If you need a password to connect, it is encrypted. If no
password is required, you are operating in the open with no
protection whatsoever.

There are various encryption strengths, some suited for
your basic office environment and some more suited for
even more confidential situations, like a doctor’s office.

At this point, the important thing is not so much the strength
of the encryption as much as whether or not you have it
at all. Most would-be internet thieves (no, that is not their
technical name), upon seeing an encrypted wireless network,
will move on the thousands and thousands of easier targets
with no encryption.

The bottom line:

The benefits wireless internet access bring to your business
are too numerous to count. If you aren’t “wireless” yet,
look into it. If used properly, it can add heaps of value
to the service you offer your clients.

Once you go wireless, you owe it to yourself, your business
and your clients to be knowledgeable enough to protect your
data from theft.

Hi. My name is Jason Leister. I have been helping people do productive things with computers and technology for longer than I can remember.

I started Computer Super Guy, LLC because I love business. In particular, I love helping others make their businesses GROW.

Now when I say business, I am talking about passionate businesses, that stand for something and are creative expressions of their owners.

If that sounds a bit mushy, or a bit too touchy-feely, well, I’m not sorry. It’s what I believe and it is what I live.

And it is why you will benefit from working with my firm.

This may comes as a surprise to you but, if you’re using popups on your website (which you should), then chances are you’re using them all wrong. Almost everybody is.

Did you know, for example, that top marketers are using HIDDEN techniques that make any given popup VASTLY more effective on their sites than the VERY SAME popup would be on yours!

In fact, Stephen Pierce has actually admitted that one of these hidden popup techniques increased his profits by a whopping 50%!

Here’s how that technique works…

Let’s say Joe Bloggs has visited your site but has decided (for whatever reason) not to order just yet. He closes his browser (or clicks to another site) and then BAM!

Up jumps a window that makes Joe a special offer he just CAN’T refuse. On top of that, Joe has only got x number of minutes to make up his mind. There’s a countdown happening right before his eyes. If he doesn’t react before the time expires,he loses out on the special deal — forever.

Suddenly Joe is back on your site and placing his order.

I call these ‘Pressure Popups’ because they really put your visitors’ backs to the wall and practically force them to take you up on your offer.

For pressure popups to be completely effective they have to be ‘conditional’. In other words, they should only pop up when certain conditions are met.

You don’t, for example, want the pressure popup to show if your visitor is about to order your product. After all, the idea behind pressure popups is to pull back those visitors that were leaving your site WITHOUT ordering.

In short, if your visitor is ordering, leave him/her alone. However, if your visitor is clicking away, hit him/her with an offer that’s too good to resist (like a special discount, an extra bonus, etc.)

Make sure there’s a live countdown on your popup. Remind your visitor that, once the countdown has ended, the popup will disappear and will never be displayed again.

It’s easy to see how this kind of popup will make the visitor seriously reconsider your offer. This is particularly effective with those visitors who like your product but decided to order later (and usually never come back). This is the incentive they need to place the order instantly — and guarantees you a sale that would otherwise have been lost.

In the four months since I first added a conditional pressure popup to one of my sites, sales have increased by just over 20%. It’s a good feeling to know that every single extra ‘pressure’ sale I’ve made is one that would never have happened otherwise.

Adding conditional pressure popups to your is simply a question of placing a piece of javascript on your pages. You could go to a site like ScriptLance.com and hire a programmer to create the code. Or, you could download point and click software like Dynamic Popup Generator to make them for you.

Whichever approach you decide to use, go ahead and add these powerful popups to your website today and start putting your visitors under pressure!

That’s right. Your method, behavior and strategy you are now using to manage your website may be justifiable reasons to stop it as soon as possible.

Right now, there are millions of websites on the Internet, many of them are dead static pages with not or very few visitors. The owner of websites are paying lots of money and effort to make the website up and running and are giving service to visitors. From within these much of website owners, a little of them are earning money from their website or their website is beneficial for their business, most of the others are wasting their time and money.

However if you do not have a web site on the Internet, your business is under a very serious risk to be bypassed by your competitors, but if you are not running your website in a right way, then it would not only be a useless but also a threat to your whole business. If you ask why, just read just five more important reasons that you have to stop your website.

1-Your website is not well designed.

People trust to their eyes more than their other senses. So, if your small website is not well designed, it is crowded, bad colored and improperly written text, so they might think that your real store or your office should also be something like that. Having technical problems like JavaScript error messages, run time errors on loading pages, slow page download, useless graphics and flash animations are also factors that should be considered.

2-Your website is not up-to-date.

If you have put old and obsolete data and content on your website and you do not pay enough time to make it up-to-date, then how visitors could trust on your knowledge. How could you prove you and your team’s knowledge is not obsolete too? There are millions of websites that deliver very new information and are updated daily or even hourly. Visitors would not tolerate with old content. If they reach to useless and out of date information on your web site, then they leave your website to visit your competitors’ web site.

3-You do not reply your e-mails regularly and without delay.

If you do not pay enough attention to your website visitors and their e-mails, then you may have the same manner in your real world business with your customers. Replying e-mail is the simplest routine that you should have put in your daily tasks. You are not expected to reply e-mail immediately. Replying every 24 or even 48 hours is also acceptable. If you delay in response, then your competitors would win in reaching hopeless visitors that have sent you a price quote weeks ago and still are waiting. Even they have not received a simple auto responder to be sure you have received their e-mail.

4-Your website is not optimized for search engines.

So, all your potential clients that search for your services and products would be captured by your competitors who have invested to be on top in search engines. If you are paying a lot of money for your website hosting, design and support, if you make your website content up-to-date and pay time and energy to reply your e-mails, but have not a good ranking in major search engines, then you are losing your money. Being visible in the huge world of Internet is vital for your online business and search engines are very useful for this purpose. However, you should target your audiences in many other promotional methods rather than search engines, like, banner ads, e-zines, e-books, articles, forums and newsletters.

5-Insufficient information and facilities in your website.

If you have not mentioned your complete postal and contact address or you have not included price list of your services and products on your website, then you won’t be able to capture visitor’s interest. No pricing information means no path for decision. Visitors decide on many parameters, price is the most important one. Besides, a very intuitive shopping cart that could be easily managed and online credit card processing with security considerations would be the next thing your visitors would search for on your website. Not having these items, better to stop your website.

There are lots of reasons you could find in articles that having a website is vital for your business. There are also check points that you can follow to make a good website. You can use those check points to run a very successful web site to help your business and who knows, you may some day stop your real world business and just rely on your website, like many other businesses that you can find them just on the Internet. eBay, Amazon and Yahoo!. But if you are deciding to have a successful business online, you have to consider that not having set a strategy for your online business means losing reputation, money, energy and resources both on your online and real business.

This article tried to make you aware that, some day you may reach to a point for a hard decision that is, stopping your website or your very expensive website just because of your incorrect management methods. Hope you never see that day.

No matter who actually you are, a graphic designer, web designer, visualizer, concept developer, animator or layout artist. If you belong with word “Graphic Design”, this is for you.

It’s about the time when I was in initial stage of learning graphic design. For me it was all about experimenting and playing with colors. Starting with a white canvas in Adobe Photoshop and ending with an illusion, which can’t be predicted correctly, what does it denote? But yet it was a designed graphic.

I still remember most of my great designs were actually started without any concept and were been conceptualized, after I finished them. I used to call it quality by mistakes.

This is not the story of me alone, infect this belongs with a thousands of new comers and some time even with professionals.

This article “One Lesson Book – The Graphic Design” is all about explaining the most critical and important factor to design a conceptualized & significant graphic for highly demanding corporate design world.

Graphic design is no more remains the art of playing with colors; it’s a complete set of processes to follow.

- Understanding Core Concept.
– Visualizing
– Creating Value
– Sketching
– Layout Designing

– Final Touch

1) Understanding Core Concept

Core concept is actually the message, which needs to be delivered to audience of your graphic. Better to call it subject of graphic. So before double clicking the icon of graphic editor, set a core message for your future graphic. Think what you need, your audience to know by this graphic. Then see your concept from customer point of view, are you getting what you want to show?

2) Visualizing

I believe the most critical factor to design a significant graphic is visualizing and designing the concept. Concept i.e. how will you deliver your message to your audience? Concept i.e. what single illusion will replace your 1000 words?

In this step you need to visualize the look and feel of your future graphic. You need to visualize the contents of graphic.

Let me take an example –
Once I have seen an advertisement of a car manufacturing company in a magazine. In graphic, they had placed a luxurious white color sofa on four wheels. Of course they wanted to show their customers, how much comfort the car delivers to rider.

This is an elegant example of getting the core concept (“Delivering Comfort”) and visualizing a design (“Luxurious Sofa on Four Wheels”).

3) Creating Value

Creating value means you have to visualize your design according to the value of product or value of brand. What I mean to say is you can’t visualize a beggar signing a cheque by a Luxurious Parker Pen Or, you can’t visualize a family sitting & smiling in a Red Ferrari Racing Car.

The brands have certain values and you have to design your graphic accordingly to maintain their brand value.

4) Sketching

Most of the designers love to skip this step, but this is again a very important section. Designing a sketch of your visualization before drawing the actual graphic, is like designing a demonstration model of a building, before actually building it.

It gives you a vision of what exactly the final graphic is going to come. You can better use your time enhancing the content placement and look & feel of graphic on a paper and even can make appropriate changes if something goes wrong here.

5) Layout Designing

Now you are 100% ready to make your hands dirty with the various tools of graphic design software to shape your imagination in actual form.

The profit of following all 4 steps above can be seen here, where you have a clear image in your mind that what exactly you want to create and how finally it will look.

There is a saying in management “it’s always better to spend extra time when planning, instead of spending extra days in producing”.

6) Final Touch

Now your visualized image is finally in your hands and now you are eager to show it to somebody, who can praise you for your new design but Wait.
This is the time to re-analyze the starting core concept and the final outcome. How far have you achieved? You will definitely give you 100 marks but let’s have a cross check.

- Check if the size ratio of text and images is correct or not? Use small text size for sleekness and big text size for giving focus.
– Check if the colors you have used are kissing your eyes or not? Use combination of dark shades or light-dark shades rather then fully light colors.
– Check if you have placed a significant amount of text too to describe your core message or not?

– Check if there is any content missing?

Though there is no pre-defined mechanism available to judge the capabilities of a designer, but yes by following these certain steps you can advantage yourself in this fast paced competitive world, where you don’t have enough chances to make errors and then correct them.
