If you have filed tax returns for a few years, you probably have found that some information you needed to put on a tax return was not as clear as it should be. If you live in San Diego and your first language is Spanish, you may have even more reason to fear the tax season. It is hard enough for a native speaker of English to comprehend some tax questions, but a person who has learned English later in life has even greater problems.
Needing help with an IRS problem tends to make most of us fearful. We are not sure if an income tax auditor may call us and whether he would be friendly if he did contact us. Our first problem is probably the fear of the Internal Revenue Service. If we find that we owe IRS for back taxes due to some oversight, how much time will they allow us to pay the balance?
Actually, we should not harbor such fear of the tax man. If we misunderstood something on our tax return, the IRS representative is usually ready to help with IRS problems.
